Velvet is the fabric people reach for when they want a room to feel finished. It catches light differently than cotton or linen does. You notice the depth in it, the way color shifts slightly as you move past a window. We make these panels because that quality matters to us too. A curtain should do more than cover glass.

Our velvet curtains use the same triple-woven blackout construction we build into our other blackout lines. The light-blocking layer sits inside the weave, not glued onto the back of the fabric. This matters for velvet especially. A coating would stiffen the material and change how it drapes. Our panels stay soft, and they fold into natural waves when you pull them to one side. They also block light without turning rigid after you wash them.

You will notice the weight when you handle these. Velvet is heavier than most curtain fabrics, and that weight helps the panels hang straight against the wall. It also means they insulate better than lighter materials. In summer, they keep heat from coming through the window. In winter, they hold warmth inside the room. The trade-off is that you need a rod and brackets that can carry the load. Check what your hardware supports before you order.

Color choice here works a little differently than with flat weaves. Velvet absorbs light rather than reflecting it, so the shade you see on screen will look deeper in person. Pink reads closer to rose or blush depending on how the sun hits it. Grey can look almost blue in morning light and charcoal by evening lamp. If you are matching paint or furniture, hold a sample near your wall at different times of day.

Measure twice before you pick a length. These panels come in 84-inch and 96-inch drops for most colors. The longer size works well if you have high ceilings or prefer the fabric to pool slightly on the floor. For standard windows, 84 inches usually clears the sill by a few inches. Account for the height of your rod when you calculate. A few inches above the frame adds more coverage than most people expect.
